Buy A Block Campaign

 Buy A Block 2
We need $70,000.00 in place by the end of December 2014 to build a 4 – 6 bedroom house in order to move our children and their care givers by the end of April, 2015.
We simply cannot allow these once homeless kids to become homeless again.
How can you help?
Please pray for us and “purchase” as many cement blocks as you can @ $5.00 a piece to help make this happen. One of our long term benefactors is offering to match every block you purchase with 3 blocks, up to $30,000.00 during this campaign.
Every “purchase “(donation) of $20.00 or more will receive a charitable receipt for Canadian tax purposes.
Please click to donate using a cheque, Visa, MasterCard, Debit or PayPal. Thank you in advance and God bless you!

house back

We must move our children and care givers out of the current rented house by the end of April, 2015. The landlord wants his house back and will not renew our lease no matter what. We had acquired a property in 2011 which we plan to develop to meet our long term goals in Haiti which includes housing for up to 75 children, a school complete with a playground and a chapel. But we need $70,000.00 NOW to build a 4 – 6 bedroom house on a section of that property in order to move our children and their care givers by the end of April, 2015.
We need this money in place by end of December, 2014 to meet this challenge. So, knowing that “with God nothing is impossible”, we ask for your financial help and prayers to make this happen. Every donation of $20.00 or more will receive a tax receipt.
To help reach our goal, one of our long term benefactors is offering to match all donations 1: 3 up to $30,000.00. So come on and join him to make this drive a reality, please. Remember, each dollar you donate becomes Four Dollars!
Please consider Christ’s words “whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me” as you consider this request.
Thank you in advance for taking the needs of WHCC into consideration.
God bless you!

Our Christmas Banquet of December 7, 2013 was a great success, thanks to all of you that bought tickets, donated money, door prizes, baked goodies and other items, as well as coming out to make it a fun time of fellowship.
We raised over $20,000.00. This is indeed the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eye.

Journey to Haiti 2013

plane down
During the wee hours of an ordinary Monday morning before the sun came up we started our day. The group congregated at the airport in high spirits for the long-awaited journey. Thirteen in all and 20+ bags checked we boarded the plane, Haiti bound, with connection in Miami. We arrive in Miami and within minutes learnt that a Brazilian military plane crashed onto Port-au-Prince only runway. In fine Haitian style, that plane wasn’t moving anytime soon. Our group now in total trepidation with no flights out to Port-au-Prince until Thursday (3 days later), what were we going to do in Miami for 3 days?

School's Out for Haiti's Children

haiti school childrenJuly 6, 2013
School is out – YEAH!
Our children finally completed the school year in their new schools. We had moved the kids from the school they had previously been enrolled in to another school. As most of you already know, schooling is not free at any level in Haiti. This is not a result of shortage of schools. There are, in fact, schools everywhere because it is a business and like all businesses and enterprises, some are good, some are better and some are just plain bad - and for various reasons.
