After a 3-year hiatus, the resumption of our Annual Christmas Fundraising Gala was a resounding success. The event was held at a venue which we had never used before and many of the attendees gave it thumbs up. We had a full house with live music and games. A Big Thank You to all those who came out to make it the success that it was. Thanks to all the volunteers, the musicians and of course all the donors. Special thanks to Georgetown Toyota and Andrew Price (Google USA) for donating prizes for the event. God Bless you all!

Thanks to everyone that have reached out to inquire about the wellbeing of the WHCC home in Haiti in light of the devastating earthquake in the early hours of today. I am thankful to report that our children and property are safe. The epicenter of the quake is at the south-west section of the Island where the devastation is very extensive with fatalities number in the 100's. We sad to report that the house mother to the children, who hales from that area of the Island has reportedly lost their family home and understandably, she is quite devastated. Please remember her and others affected by this tragedy in your prayers.
 

In addition to this devastation, the US Geological Survey is tracking Tropical Storm Grace to pass through the Islands by as early as this Monday.

I hope you are all doing well and are finding a way to enjoy the fall safely. We are now in the final sprint toward our new version of Welcome Home Children’s Centre Annual Christmas Fundraiser, and we are doing our very best to re-create the feeling we all have of gathering in person while having to do it virtually.

I know this is a tough year for all of us, both workwise and personally in many cases. But I am asking you to dig deep this year and find a way to support the precious children of Welcome Home Children Centre. As our dear friend and board member, Audrey Hoekstra, has said in support of the Annual Christmas Fundraiser, “We all need to lift up Welcome Home Children. Especially this year.”

As you all know we usually raise around $30,000 from the Christmas Fundraiser, and while we know that may not happen this year, we need to raise as much as we can.
