Vision

The vision of Welcome Home Children’s Centre (WHCC) is to be a premier home for orphaned children in the nation of Haiti.

It is our intention that local government and community organizations will view WHCC as a place that nurtures both the extrinsic and intrinsic needs of every child – thus satisfying their basic and immediate needs, while equipping them with the tools that will lead to self-sufficiency.

We endeavour to nurture children who will contribute to their own well being, as well as the well being of others and of their country.

We are realistic enough to know that these children will remain in our care until they reach adulthood. For this reason, we plan to raise them in a manner that will address all aspects of their lives: physical, psychological, intellectual and spiritual. It is our goal to assist Haitians in these uncertain times to lift up a generation of youngsters who will fulfill their own promise and that of their country.

Mission

With responsibility, respect, and stewardship, we commit to carrying out this three-part mission of Welcome Home Children’s Centre:

• Fund, initiate, develop, facilitate and promote programs, activities and facilities that will contribute to the overall well being of orphaned children, who have been exploited and abandoned in Haiti, through the provision of adequate housing, health care, education and training.
• Fund, develop and organize various self-sustaining initiatives including agricultural projects and well construction, thus facilitating skills development, a sustainable food source and a stable supply of clean water for improving sanitation.
• Plan, organize, coordinate and lead trips to Haiti of volunteer teams consisting of health care workers and educators wanting to improve the lives of the young citizens of this nation.
